Hello everyone!

It's that time of year - to start thinking about next year!

There are a few details and changes to let you know about -

1) No price raise this year! I've raised prices each year previously for a number of reasons - mainly inflation, and needing more competitive rates (I started out verrrrry cheap). This year however, I am happy to announce that my rates are staying the same!

2) I am changing my studio policy to teach year-round. It's important for students to continue learning during the summer months. Those three months of the year make a big difference! If we keep checking in with lessons during the summer then we can hit September in stride each year, without needing to review and catch up every fall.

This change means that instead of being billed 10 months of the year, you'll be billed 12 months of the year. The other reason for this, is that I do have to pay bills all 12 months of the year, and taking the summer off just isn't feasible financially. In order to continue doing this for a living, I do need an income for all 12 months of the year. You can read the 2024-25 Studio Policy for more details about how this will work. There will be 42 lessons between total for the year. 35 during the school year and 7 in the summer (five more school year lessons and 2 more summer lessons than previously). Summer lessons will again be able to be scheduled flexibly according to your schedule.

3) I'm going to try something new during the school year - group lessons! Once every two months, students will come in for a group lesson instead a private lesson. I'm excited to try out these group lessons - there's a lot of research into the benefits of group learning. These group lessons will be fun opportunities for students to perform for each other and participate in fun learning games. When you register, there will be a Google Form for you to fill out about what times your kids can come in for a group lesson. They will be grouped according to age (elementary, middle, and high school). I will let parents/students know well in advance which weeks we are switching out private lessons for group lessons.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns! I also have the last newsletter's information attached below if you have any questions about the upcoming summer schedule.

Summer Lessons

Summer lessons are for EVERYONE! They are built into your lesson tuition. Everyone's tuition has paid for 5 lessons you can schedule flexibly over the summer. This means that instead of having a regular lesson at the same time every week, you can schedule them throughout the summer on the dates/times that work for you. Most weeks, lesson times are available Tuesday-Thursday between noon - 4 pm. There are a few weeks where I'm gone during the week (or am helping to run a piano camp), so there are lesson times available on Monday, 12-4pm on those weeks . If you need a time outside of what's available, please let me know.

Click on the button below to sign up for summer lessons. You'll need to enter the password "pianorocks" to see the page. There is an short video walking you through the steps to register - I would highly recommend watching it!

Piano Camp

I'm super excited about hosting a Piano Camp this summer with my fellow piano teacher, Carrisa Pitkin-Cox! Students ages 8-11 can participate in fun  games and musical activities that help them learn and LOVE music! Click the button below for more details!

Jazz Combos

And for middle and high school students interested in jazz - we're doing a super fun jazz combos program where they get to learn songs and perform them in a small jazz band (piano, bass, drums, maybe a horn player too depending on how many sign up). It's going to be tons of fun! Click on the button below for more details!
